Adam Aydin
Adam Aydin is immensely grateful for the impact the Jr. Road Warriors wheelchair basketball team has had in his life. He started playing after sustaining a spinal cord injury, in order to help him stay active after rehab. Adam states that adaptive sports like wheelchair basketball "reignited his passion for sport" and improved his outlook on life in general. He attended his first wheelchair basketball tournament in November 2023, and has enjoyed playing the sport since then. Being able to travel and play against other teams was a wonderful experience he was lucky to have. The Jr. Road Warriors are a great team that has improved the lives of many players, and will continue to do so.
Amir Zaghi
Amir Zaghi (class of 2026).Zaghi started his wheelchair basketball career this year as a sophomore. After finishing his first year, Zaghi said that playing wheelchair basketball “changed my view on the game.” Even though it’s his first year playing wheelchair ball, Zaghi has always had love and passion towards the game of basketball. He then continued saying, “i’ve always wanted to play [basketball] competitively. I thought I would never be able to play because of my disability. Then I found out about the team…joining the road warriors has changed my life.”

I lost my little brother when I was 4 years old. Six years later, I was hit by a car, and became paraplegic. Despite complex injuries, I improvised my mobility and have fun, a lot of fun! The most crippling disability is not having the will to live life fully. With Jr. Road Warriors, I have learned team spirit and self discipline, not just in sports but in all aspects of life. I am excited to learn that Jr. Road Warriors is expanding in the Bay Area so it can benefit a lot more disabled children.
At Angel City Sports Gold Meets Golden 2019 fundraising event, I met Olympian Michelle Kwan and Golden Globe Awards winner Amy Adams, and many wonderful donors and supporters.
